Strategic planning for solid waste, Campbell County, Wyoming
CalRecovery was engaged to assist in developing a strategic waste diversion plan. The work included identification and recommendations for improvements in certain of the County’s solid waste management operations and programs. The firm placed an emphasis on improving operations and programs related to diversion of waste from landfill disposal and on user convenience. Special attention was placed on practical improvements in operations and in diversion rate of materials that could be implemented cost effectively in the near-term.
Regional Organics and Recyclables Management Study
For a Northern California county, CalRecovery is assisting in the analysis of its regional solid waste management system, with a special focus on sustainable diversion of organic materials from landfill disposal. Tasks include: 1) estimating quantities of organic materials, 2) developing options for regional organics processing facilities, 3) providing options for food waste collection programs, 4) researching options for municipal involvement in food rescue programs, 5) providing options for improvements to the region’s recycling services, and 6) preparing a regional waste management plan.
