Planning
 Our
qualifications and experience in this area include the
performance of multi-disciplinary projects involving a
variety of fields and of subcontractors. We are a leader
in planning and integrating solid waste management systems
and in their integration with other key community services,
such as wastewater treatment and power generation. Our
participation in these projects has covered long-range
planning, feasibility analyses, technology and information
transfer, financial and institutional analyses, and project
design and implementation. Members of CalRecovery have
worked both as representatives of international financing
institutions and as representatives of the borrowers.

Agency for International Development -- CalRecovery
served as advisor in various aspects associated with
solid waste management to the Office of the President
of the Republic of the Philippines. We conducted a
rapid assessment of existing conditions and prepared
an Action Plan for Solid Waste Management in Metropolitan
Manila. Members of the company assisted in a solicitation
process for the construction and operation of two
transfer stations and a large-scale waste disposal
facility. We also developed strategies for cost recovery
mechanisms for waste management services, reviewed
current proposed legislation, and prepared a plan
for waste diversion and waste minimization. |

Bank -- A comprehensive analysis of the solid
waste management situation in Bangladesh was conducted.
The firm managed the preparation of the sectoral analysis,
which included a number of aspects associated with
national and local policy, regulations, environmental
protection, public health aspects, social issues,
community participation, and institutional and technical
matters. |
| City
of New Haven, Connecticut -- CalRecovery worked
with a local contractor in the preparation of a solid
waste management plan. The project involved compilation,
evaluation, and consolidation of previous planning
efforts, followed by the development of solid waste
management options and recommendations that would
allow the City to realize its 60% recycling goal.
